John Denby (LL.B.) – Started the firm in 1960 as a sole practitioner specialising in Conveyancing, Divorce and Probate work. As the volume of work increased it was necessary to take on more staff and share the responsibility with Partners who have each added further disciplines and impetus to the firm.

Philip Scott (LL.B.) – Philip has been with our firm since 1991 and after being involved with the whole range of a High Street Solicitors practice work decided to specialise in divorce, children and crime and the associated Advocacy. He is a member of the Family Law Association and the Court & Police Station Duty Solicitor Scheme and has qualified as a Law Society Advanced Family Panel member. He is on the Law Society Children Panel and is also a member of the Legal Aid Appeals Committee. In 2004 he qualified as a Resolution Accredited Specialist and was invited onto their Domestic Abuse Committee in 2005.In 2009 he qualified as a Collaborative Family Lawyer. In 2010 he became a Mediator.

Richard Denby (LL.B.) – Richard has been with the firm since 1991 and after two years general work decided to specialise in Probate, Wills and Tax Planning. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners and has been appointed to the Court of Protection Receivers Panel.

Andy Gallagher (LL.B.) – Andy has been with our firm since 1998 and decided to specialise in Criminal Advocacy, Employment Law and Civil Litigation (Particularly Personal Injury). He is a member of the Court & Police Station Duty Solicitor Scheme and is a member of the Society of Personal Injury Lawyers. He is also a member of the Legal Aid Appeals Committee.

Andrew Hollins-Gibson (B.A.) – Andrew joined our firm in 1999 as an experienced Advocate and Licensing Lawyer having gained experience with two other legal practices. He is a member of the Court & Police Station Duty Solicitor Scheme and is a member of the North West Duty Solicitors Regional Committee. He is also a member of the Legal Aid Appeals Committee.

Michael Sadler (LL.B.) – Michael has been associated with our firm since 1972 and after several years elsewhere gaining experience in the commercial law and property fields returned to Furness and the firm that trained him . Michael is our resident partner at our Ulverston office and deals with Commercial and Residential Conveyancing as well as Probate and Wills.

Brian Reece – Brian following his retirement from the Police force found a ready use for his knowledge of the court and legal system by undertaking Crown Court work on our behalf. He joined us in 2005.

Jacqueline Scott (F.Inst.L.Ex) – Jackie joined the firm in 1988 and specialised in Family law and compensation claims. She is now mainly involved in Costing. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Dave Burnham (H.N.D.) – Dave joined our firm in 2002 as Office Manager to help in the organisation and running of our practice which has benefited enormously from his considerable experience.

Grace Morrison (LL.B) – Grace joined our firm in 2006 to specialise in Domestic Conveyancing and in Employment Law, having had experience in Newcastle.

Rebecca Soldatt (B.A.) – Rebecca joined our firm in 2009 to specialise in Family Law, having had experience working in Workington and Kendal.
